Occurs naturally in\u00a0NT\u00a0at low elevations, and naturalised in\u00a0WA,\u00a0CYP,\u00a0NEQ\u00a0and\u00a0CEQ\u00a0due probably to the direct or indirect consequences of cultivation (Fide Pedley,1998). Altitudinal range from near sea level to 100 m. Usually grows naturally in\u00a0open forest\u00a0but also found in\u00a0monsoon forest\u00a0and\u00a0closed forest\u00a0particularly on heavy soils on river flood plains. Also occurs in\u00a0Malesia\u00a0and Asia. Widely cultivated throughout the tropics particularly in areas with a marked dry season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
